the short answer is: set pattern_b to None

        pattern_b : str
a shell glob patter to match the second
frames. if None, then the list is sequential, 001.tif, 002.tif

Subject: regarding new openpiv version

Dear Sir or Madam,

I had been using an older version of OpenPIV until recently and then switched computers. I installed the recent version and I see that “openpiv.process.WiDIM” no longer exists. I was using this for my window deformation multi-pass (and it worked great! thanks!). I was starting to work through the tutorial for the new version with “openpiv.pyprocess.windef”, but I ran into a simple problem. In the settings, where one defines the image format, the example has “a” and “b”. My images are a simple series of images: “image_00001.jpg, image_00002.jpg”, etc. What should I change the settings to in this case?

Best regards,
Rory CERBUS

Hi,

thanks for your request, I've decided to adopt the options available in openpiv Tk GUI to our openpiv.windef :

please update to version 0.24.0

it allows to use the following sequence types: (1+2),(2+3), (1+3),(2+4), (1+2),(3+4)

Thank you for that. That feature can be helpful.
You said you adopted it from GUI openpiv.
Since I don't like GUI based software, I have a general question about python openpiv vs GUI openpiv. Do you prioritize GUI? If positive, does it mean that you plan phasing out non GUI based version of openpiv? Can I relax and keep using python openpiv?

You can relax - the openpiv-Python library is the main package. GUI might have its own advantage, but it is built on top of the library and not vice versa.
