Synopsys VCS Version

Hi All,

I was using version 5.7 installer and was using the vcs-mx_vL-2016.06-SP1 version for the simulator on my previous license. After updating the previous expired license, it has been throwing the following error.

Feature VCSCompiler_Net
does not meet the specifications.
Retrying request.....

 Failed to obtain license...

I was suggested by the technical team at my university that it could be because the new license doesn't support the older VCS versions and I should run the latest Synopsys VCS (V-2023.12-SP2). 

If that is the case can you please recommend me the latest version for simulator that someone tested and it works. Thank you.

I haven't generally heard of any tool version issues for years in terms of compatibility. We run a 2020 version of VCS and have no issues with that. I don't think your error is necessarily an openpiton issue, it sounds more like a tool licence issue?
