Hi folks,

Today we announced that we are shutting down the hosted service at Trovebox.com - https://trovebox.com/shutdown.

This doesn't affect the open source version you can find on Github but we will probably want to discuss and figure out what the plans are moving forward.

If anyone has questions you can reply to this thread or contact me directly.

Thanks,

Jaisen

Hi Jaisen,

I'd like to host my own trovebox, and I helped to document an installation procedure on DreamHost some years ago. My questions are:

- how easy is it to install our own instance with the latest version?
- Is there any howto/script/etc if we want to move from Dropbox to another storage type (like OwnCloud)?

Cheers,
Duarte

Duarte,

It should be as easy as it was before. We'll have an AMI for EC2 but you can follow the guides (which you're familiar with) to set it up on your own host.

To support OwnCloud you would have to add an adapter (file system and/or database). We don't have documentation on how to do that but there are several implementations you could look at src/libraries/adapters/.
