Hi all, Florida has released the latest data from their influential Student Textbook and Course Materials Survey. A key finding is that the impact of textbook costs hasn’t budged from the 2016 and 2018 findings: students are still likely to not purchase a book, take fewer courses, not register for a course, earn a poor grade, drop, withdraw, or fail because of high textbook costs. :/ Amy

In Collecting local data to advocate for Oregon State students, Stefanie walks through the results of a student survey conducted at OSU, which found that 61% of the respondents do not purchase their textbooks because of cost. In Oregon adaptation of Matrix for OER in Tenure and Promotion, Stefanie describes frameworks and resources for including OER in promotion and tenure documents.
