to Open Oregon
Hi all,
Open Oregon Educational Resources is in the Student Basic Needs Coalition with our state's benefits navigators. The
Student Basic Needs and Workforce Stabilization Act
increases funding for benefits navigators so that they have more resources to support students. However, the Governor's Recommended Budget does the opposite - it eliminates the funding for the people that do this important work. You can read more in the Oregonian:
Colleges plead for $5M to retain workers who help needy students obtain food stamps, help for basic needs
.
Here's what you can do:
-
Email Governor Kotek
your opinion of cutting the Benefits Navigator Program out of her recommended budget.
- Follow The Student Basic Needs Coalition on
Instagram
.
- Share widely!
Thanks,
Amy
