Upcoming professional development hosted by Open Oregon Educational Resources

  • Early Career Educators Use of OER in High School Language Classes. This presentation explores two high school teachers’ experiences with creating and sharing OER, what motivates them to create it, the challenges they’ve faced, and what they wished they learned as pre-service teachers. October 7, 4-5.
  • Sign up by October 14, 2025, for Open Oregon Educational Resources to sponsor your registration for virtual attendance at theOpen Education Conference, October 28-30, 2025. 
  • Open Curriculum Projects Virtual Launch Party! Join Open Oregon Educational Resources to celebrate the hard work, commitment, and care demonstrated by the hundreds of people who contributed to our openly licensed course materials with an equity lens in Human Development and Family Studies, Sociology, and Criminal Justice. October 22, 12-1.
  • Register for a Virtual OER Review Workshop taking place on one of three dates: November 17 – 12-1 p.m.; November 18 – 10-11 a.m.; or November 19 – 5-6 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a $200-$300 stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.
  • Preservice Faculty Course Redesign Registration. Preservice faculty can register by December 31 to receive a $750 stipend to redesign their courses, using open educational resources with an equity lens.
  • Equity and Open Education Faculty Cohort Registration for Winter 2026. Join a statewide 2-part Equity and Open Education Faculty Cohort! Participants will earn a $200 stipend upon completion of “Part 1 – Explore” and will have the option to earn an additional $300 stipend in “Part 2 – Implement.” Register by January 16, 2026.
  • Modifying and Creating OER Workshop. Are you an instructor who wants nuts-and-bolts help creating or adapting open educational resources (OER)? Register for a workshop taking place January 26, 2026, 12-1 Pacific to get started. After the workshop, you’ll receive a stipend if you practice modifying or creating OER and send us a link to your work.

Calls for proposals in the open education field

  • The call for submissions is open for the newly launched Library Freedom Journal, published by the Library Freedom Project. Submissions are due October 31.
  • Applications are open for the Certificate in Open Pedagogy, hosted by the Open Education Network. Applicants must be a pair or team of instructional faculty and librarians/instructional designers. Applications are due October 31. Open Oregon Educational Resources may be able to sponsor your attendance.
  • Applications are open for the Certificate in Open Education Librarianship, hosted by the Open Education Network. Applications are due October 31. Open Oregon Educational Resources may be able to sponsor your attendance.
  • The call for proposals is open for the Open for Student Success Symposium, hosted by Georgia State University Library and taking place online March 4. Submissions are due November 1.
