This presentation explores two high school teachers’ experiences with creating and sharing OER, what motivates them to create it, the challenges they’ve faced, and what they wished they learned as pre-service teachers. Join Open Oregon Educational Resources to celebrate the hard work, commitment, and care demonstrated by the hundreds of people who contributed to our openly licensed course materials with an equity lens in Human Development and Family Studies, Sociology, and Criminal Justice. Register for a Virtual OER Review Workshop taking place on one of three dates: November 17 – 12-1 p.m.; November 18 – 10-11 a.m.; or November 19 – 5-6 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a $200-$300 stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.
Preservice Faculty Course Redesign Registration. Preservice faculty can register by December 31 to receive a $750 stipend to redesign their courses, using open educational resources with an equity lens.
Equity and Open Education Faculty Cohort Registration for Winter 2026. Join a statewide 2-part Equity and Open Education Faculty Cohort! Participants will earn a $200 stipend upon completion of “Part 1 – Explore” and will have the option to earn an additional $300 stipend in “Part 2 – Implement.” Register by January 16, 2026.
Modifying and Creating OER Workshop. Are you an instructor who wants nuts-and-bolts help creating or adapting open educational resources (OER)? Register for a workshop taking place January 26, 2026, 12-1 Pacific to get started. After the workshop, you’ll receive a stipend if you practice modifying or creating OER and send us a link to your work.
The National Consortium for Open Educational Resources is running a survey to gather input from open education stakeholders on key research needs, underexplored topics, and gaps in the current knowledge base. Respond by October 14.
