Upcoming professional development hosted by Open Oregon Educational Resources

• Equity and Open Education Teaching & Learning Support Cohort Registration is open through March 25. Participants will earn a $200 stipend upon completion of “Part 1- Explore” (April 8-May 3, 2024) and will have the option to earn an additional $300 stipend in “Part 2- Implement” (May 6-31, 2024).
• Student-Centered Course Material Procurement Models. The current campus store model isn't working for any stakeholder. How can we proactively get out of our campus store doom loop? Open Oregon Educational Resources and the Orbis Cascade Alliance invite you to a virtual half-day meeting to bring together OER champions, librarians, store managers, business officers, instructors, students, and other relevant stakeholders in Oregon. May 3, 9-1
• Spring 2024 Virtual OER Review Workshops will take place May 13, 12-1; May 14, 5-6; and May 15, 12-1. After the workshop, you’ll receive a stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.

• Exploring Open Education Publishing Platforms, hosted by CCCOER. May 8, 12 Pacific.
• Registration is open for the Library Publishing Forum, hosted by the Library Publishing Coalition, taking place in-person in Minneapolis May 15-16.
• 2024 CCCOER EDI Summer Book Club meets at 12 Pacific on June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25, and August 8 to discuss Academic Ableism: Disability and Higher Education by Jay T. Dolmage. 

Calls for proposals in the open education field

• The Summer 2024 Open Education Publishing Institute: Collaborative Knowledge and Social Justice, hosted by The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, is accepting applications. Participation includes an award to cover travel, lodging, and other costs and Oregon instructors are eligible to apply. Apply by March 15 (extended).
• The call for proposals for Kean University's 4th OER virtual conference is due March 15. The conference takes place virtually on March 21 and 22.
• The call for proposals for OpenCon Ohio 2024 is open. The event takes place virtually May 13-17. Proposals are due March 23. 
• The Open Ed Conference seeks proposal reviewers. Sign up by April 5.
• The 2024 Open Education Conference call for proposals is open. The submission deadline is April 15. 
• The Journal of Open Educational Resources in Higher Education’s call for papers is open. Submissions for the 2024 issue are due April 19. 

OER-related job opportunities

• The Ohio State University Libraries is hiring a Copyright Services Specialist. Apply by March 18.
