Rebus Supplemental Materials Development CertificatePerhaps you’re feeling great about your textbook, but what about the rest of your course experience? Join our June 2025 cohort of the Rebus Supplemental Materials Development Certificate  to reimagine your course materials and feel empowered to implement the changes you’ve always dreamed of making! This six-week, asynchronous course is designed to support educators – faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and learning support professionals – in developing open and engaging student-centered resources. Mary Isbell is an Associate Professor of English at The University of New Haven. Her research focuses on nineteenth-century literature and culture, narratology, scholarly text encoding, and open educational practices. Welcome, Victoria!

The Rebus team has a new member! Meet Victoria Brame, our new Marketing and Communications Manager.

Headshot image of Victoria Brame, Marketing and Communications Manager for The Rebus FoundationVictoria leads strategic communications to expand the reach of The Rebus Foundation’s open education initiatives. With more than a decade of experience in education, including nine years as a K-12 teacher and administrator and most recently as a joint-use academic/public librarian at Lone Star College-CyFair, she has spearheaded projects such as Z-Degree pathway development and campus OER initiatives. Victoria holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity University, a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University, and a Certificate in Open Education Librarianship from the Open Education Network. She is a Founding Fellow of the Texas OER Fellowship Program and served as Chair of the Houston Area OER Consortium. Passionate about eliminating barriers to education and empowering faculty through open materials, Victoria has been a member of the open education community since 2020. She also enjoys local exploration, traveling, staying active, outdoor adventures, and scuba diving.

Call for Philosophy Authors

The Introduction to Philosophy open textbook series is seeking authors for two chapters! Prospective authors should hold or be pursuing a PhD in philosophy with teaching experience preferred. Interested individuals should contact Tony Cheng, the book editor with a statement of interest and CV. More information available in the Rebus Forum.

DOERS Focus Groups on AI & OER

Join the DOERS Spring 2025 Focus Groups on AI + OER! The DOERS Innovation Workgroup is seeking insights from across the open education community. These 1-hour focus groups explore critical intersections between AI and OER, including:
  • Creation & Delivery of OER
  • Accessibility & Equity for Diverse Learners
  • Social & Economic Impacts
  • Attribution & Student Use of AI Tools
  • Institutional Policy & Ethics

Call for a Librarian Mentor

Library Futures is seeking a librarian mentor to support an information science intern with publishing activities in Pressbooks this summer. Those interested can find further details in the mentor manual and submit a volunteer form.
