  • TODAY! Beyond Compliance to Universal Design of OER. Suzanne Wakim will discuss how you can apply universal design and open pedagogy to create a truly awesome OER. March 13, 12-1.
  • Register for a Virtual OER Review Workshop taking place on one of three dates: May 11 – 1-2 p.m.; May 13 – 5-6 p.m.; or May 14 – 12-1 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a $200-$300 stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.

Upcoming professional development hosted by Open Oregon Educational Resources

  • Register for a Virtual OER Review Workshop taking place on one of three dates: May 11 – 1-2 p.m.; May 13 – 5-6 p.m.; or May 14 – 12-1 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a $200-$300 stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.

Other ways to get involved

  • Registration is open for the Certificate in Open Education for Librarians, hosted by Library Juice Academy and led by Quill West and Colleen Sanders. Next session runs April-August 2026. Open Oregon Educational Resources can sponsor tuition for participants at Oregon’s public colleges and universities.

  • OER Styles Accessibility Series, cohosted by ISKME and CAST. April 8th and May 13th, 11-12:30 Pacific. Open Oregon Educational Resources can sponsor tuition for participants at Oregon’s public colleges and universities.

  • Registration is open for Online Northwest 2026, taking place at the University of Oregon Portland Campus April 10.

  • Registration is open for Rebus’s Supplemental Materials Development Certificate. The course runs May 18-June 30. Early bird pricing ends March 31, and regular registration closes April 30. Open Oregon Educational Resources may be able to sponsor your training. There is an info session April 1, 11-11:20 Pacific.

  • Registration is open for the Florida OER Summit, hosted by Florida Virtual Campus and taking place online May 20-21.

  • Registration is open for Creative Commons Certificate training, which runs online June 1-Aug 9. Scholarships are available and Open Oregon Educational Resources may be able to sponsor your training.

  • The Open Education Global Conference seeks proposal peer reviewers. Submit a signup form by March 22.

  • Registration is open for the All Things Open Conference, hosted by Kennesaw State University and taking place virtually April 6-9.

    • Accessible Open Math. Join this panel for an in-depth and practical discussion of some of the big topics to think about when creating accessible open math. April 20, 1 Pacific.
    • Register for a Virtual OER Review Workshop taking place on one of three dates: May 11 – 1-2 p.m.; May 13 – 5-6 p.m.; or May 14 – 12-1 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a $200-$300 stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.

    • The editors of Reflections on Open Educational Practices: Intentions, Nuances, and Complexities seek book chapter proposals. Submissions are due March 27 (today!).
    • The call for proposals is open for OEGlobal 2026, taking place virtually and in Cambridge MA October 7-9. Proposals are due March 30.
    • The State Library of Oregon is now accepting applications for upcoming vacancies on the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee. This is an opportunity to weigh in on resources that can be used as course materials. Applications are due March 30.
    • The call for proposals is open for the Open Education Conference, taking place virtually October 27-29. Proposals are due April 3.
    • Registration is open for the All Things Open Conference, hosted by Kennesaw State University and taking place virtually April 6-9.
    • The call for proposals is open for ILAGO’s Oregon Information Literacy Summit, taking place virtually and in Portland May 25-29. Proposals are due April 13. 
    • The call for proposals is open for OER26, taking place in Milton Keynes, UK, June 22-23. Proposals are due April 13.
