OpenOlat 16.0 released

Dear OpenOlat community

Several weeks ago we release OpenOlat 16.0. The OpenOlat 16.0 release is an iterative evolution of the 10 -15 release series. You can download it from here: https://www.openolat.org/downloads.html
 

The most important highlights are: 
  • New layout featuers of course elements with images and different display styles
    • Color categories for course elements for color-coding sections of your course
    • Additional course element metadata such as learning objectives, instructions or notes for the course coach
    • New course element header preview feature
    • New opimized automatic course overview page with sub-level rendering
  • Totally refactored table component with many great new features
    • Support for multiple filters, add filter if you need more
    • Filter presets that replace the segment navigation
    • Save custom filters to create your custom views
    • Improved visual support for horizontal scrolling, specially on mobile devices
    • Show bulk actions only when needed
    • Mobile view for table filters and table configuraiton
  • Course copy wizard for learning path courses
    • Customizable steps, decide what to copy and what to leave blank
    • Groups, Members, Course terms of use, Reminders – all configurable
    • Magically move configured dates to match the course period
  • QTI - eAssessment
    • Copy&Paste prevention for essay question type
    • File-Upload question type with support for up to 10 files
    • New hot-spot editor with fine granular controls
    • Improved messages regarding test time constraints and remaining time
  • Reminders
    • Reminders can now be configured directly on the course element that will trigger the reminder
    • Improved and simplified workflow to edit reminders including savety checks to prevent wrong rules
    • New reminder overview on the course element
  • Video element
    • Option to prevent fast-forwarding to force watching the video to the end
    • Option to hide video title
    • Option to mark the learning step automatically as done when the video has been fully watched 
    • Option to make the video downloadable
  • Other improvements
    • Adding more didactical course types
    • New completion crieteriy in the contact course element for sending an email
    • Course element specific completion criterias
    • Copying of BBB meeting configurations
    • Use OpenOlat profile picture as BBB avatar images
    • Individual colors for calendar events
    • Improved tab-navigation in all forms
    • Note that support for QTI 1.2 has finally be terminated in this release
