OpenOlat 17.0 released

Dear OpenOlat community

Some weeks ago we released OpenOlat 17.0. The OpenOlat 17.0 release is an iterative evolution of the 16.x release series. You can download it from here: https://www.openolat.org/downloads.html

The most important highlights are: 
  • New course element "Practice": re-use all your test items and let your students practice
  • Cataloc 2.0:
    • the all new catalog features browse, search and filter patterns
    • re-use taxonomy 
    • configurable launch pages
    • customizable filters
    • microsites for dedicated areas of the catalog
  • New course sharing panel:
    • configure offerings and bookings and target them to specific organisations. The resulting catalog has never been more individual!
    • sharing overview
  • Show list of enrolled/booked courses that are still in preparation
  • Invitation of external users
    • timed users with access to only a single course or group
    • gradually configure who is allowed to create such invitations
    • external users can be "upgraded" to normal users
  • Zoom video conferencing integration
    • New course element "Zoom"
    • New course tool "Zoom"
    • New group tool "Zoom"
    • Zoom meetings are automatically synchronized to the OpenOlat course or group calendar for easy access
    • Support for multiple Zoom licenses
  • New question type: gap with dropdown
  • Improved support for disadvantage compensation and time extensions in the automatic assessment mode
  • UI improvements in task course element and integration of video player for video tasks or submissions
  • New taxonomy browser with improved search and selection function for subject areas
  • Config options to display group site only for users that are actually in a group
  • Adaptive resizing of video subtitles, namely in full-screen mode
  • QM module uses not positive- and negative lists based on courses instead of curriculum elements
  • OAuth2:
    • additional support for code flow 
    • support for edu-ID
    • support for Data Pilot / Campus net
    • Improved configuration user interface
  • Organisational membership mapping when using Shibboleth Authentication
  • ...
