I’m working with IBM to connect our communities with Index, a new developer conference organized by IBM. The individual technology sessions are created by developers, for developers. I’ve organized the SMACK 2.0 workshop and panel, on 2/20 (Day 0) and 2/22, respectively. Excited to have GridGain, Apache Software Foundation, Streamlio, Salesforce, DataStax, Lightbend, and Databricks on the panel. As the core communities, we get a code to register for the whole conference for free — please use CD1ALEXY at registration and do so by midnight tonight (Monday) if you want to join us at Moscone next week!
Day 0 is the free Community Day and includes sessions by Istio, Kubernetes, TensorFlow, Spark, SMACK, and others. What’s really interesting to me about it is the interplay of the components. They compose in the end-to-end data pipelines that are the key focus of our meetups. Istio enables microservices, KubeFlow operationalizes TensorFlow, Apache Beam abstracts the pipelines across clouds and on-prem. M now increasingly stands for Model-serving/in-Memory computing, and K represents distributed layer as well.
The TensorFlow Index Community Day session is already shaping up as one of the largest, at 600+ people,. It is a great opportunity to meet the Google team, provide feedback, and ask specific questions.
