Hi there,

I just installed ONL on an old quanta-lb9 in our labs. After flashing ONIE to the switch (provided by qct.io) I was able to install ONL on the switch. So far so good.

Now my questions: As far as I can see only the mgmt port is visible. What I have to do to get the Broadcom switch chip working i.e. to see the other 52 ports ?

ONL version: Open Network Linux OS ONL-2.0.0, 2017-07-18.16:42-40fc82b Kernel version: Linux localhost 3.16.39-OpenNetworkLinux-85xx #1 SMP Tue Jul 18 17:19:01 UTC 2017 ppc GNU/Linux

When booting the device I see the following warning on serial console:
--snip
Starting Fault Agent: faultd.
Warning: Could not probe for any interfaces                              <---- This one
Starting ONLP SNMP Agent: onlp-snmpd.
--snip

lspci shows the following:
00:00.0 Power PC: Motorola Device 000d (rev 11)
00:12.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Device b538 (rev 11)

I tried to install the kernel modules package for Broadcom:
# apt-get install libbroadcom-6.3-kernel-85xx-modules
This doesn’t seem to help, since the modules are built for a different kernel.

Any help is appreciated how to get ONL to see/manage those 52 data ports on the quanta-lb9.

Best Regards, Daniel

Did you solve this problem?
I got a Edgecore AS5812, preloaded with ONL, and I cannot see the link status of any of the ports
Am I missing something?

Hi José,

Thank you for your patience and happy new year :)

By default ONL does not include the drivers for the Broadcom chipset on the AS5812.  Edge-Core should be able to provide you with a OpenNSL package that you can then run programs against.

Did you ever figure out this? I am having the same problem now with only SFPs showing up with the "onl-platform-show" command but otherwise no sign of the ports anywhere..
