Hello,
With the support of OCP we have been having conversations about ONL
with different customers to determine a path forward to getting ONL
rolling again. We appreciate the reviews that we have received and
utilized them in our choices of what to merge.
As some may have noticed, we have merged essentially all of the items
that were in the backlog and noted ones that are not usable in their
current state. Now that ONL is up to date, we need people who are
willing to review code and suggest/submit updates.
As discussed at the November OCP conference, we are looking at how to
move the ONL project forward to best support the end users. While we
know some of the users, we do not know all of them. If you use ONL or
ONLP please update us on what you use and how you use it. You can
either send the note to the list or to me personally if you are not
ready to talk publicly.
The next idea in line is to update the kernel in ONL to the current
LTS - 5.15 and integrate it as a git module instead of a submodule as
we have done in dentOS [1] to work towards an ONL that does not have
kernel patches directly inside it.
