Opennreo is not working on my PC (windows XP 32 bit)

I've installed python 2.7.2 and Wxphyton2.8, and added the python to
the path. I call python from cmd and OK. I write import wx as say
opennero instructions and OK.
i've installed opennero (well decompressed directory in anywhere in my
harddisc and execute opennero.exe. I can only see a black window with
an error info saying:

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way. Please contact the applicaction's support team for more
information.

I tried it again in other compueter and the same.

I've seen there are 2 wxpython (unicode and ansi). I've to install
both or one of them?. When Wxpython is installed, ask for compile .py
to .pyc and i've said yes.

I hope someone can help me with this problem.

A couple of things to make sure:

1) try this with the "bare-bones" windows zip (without Python)
2) make sure your Python and your wx installation are 32 bits (that's
what we linked against).

Hello Igor,

I've also tried with this "bare-bone" windows zip, and the same error.
Installations are 32bit, like my windwos OS (First time, i made a
mistake trying to install 64bit version :P, but windows didn't allow
it).

I asked my brother to try install the same, and he found the same
error (and write python on cmd and import wx is OK also). We both have
tried on 3 PCs (2 AMD processor (one dual core and the other four
core), and 1 Intel (dual core), all with XP 32 bits, ). Not sure if
this information is useful.

Do i need install something else?? something silly i'm missing i
think....

Same problem here:
I installed Python 2.7.2 (32-bit) in my Windows XP 2002 SP3 Athlon 64
X2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.44 GHz PC.
Also installed wxPython so 'import wx' statement produces no error.
Python path is included in PATH env. variable.
Installed OpenNERO-2011.12.04-win32. Try to run OpenNERO.exe:

Aborts with this message:

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

And the pop-up "OpenNERO.exe - Application error" shows up with this
message:
"unknown software exception (0x0000015)" at address "0x7857beae".
