Dear all,
I would like to know if there is available a data dictionary for the Mozambique OpenMRS data base.
MSF is working with DPS Sofala and FHI in Beira city, and we share M&E efforts.
Also, is it possible to include the MSF data manager from Beira Project in this group? His email is msfocb-bei...@brussels.msf.org
Best regards,

Hello,
For now I need the definitions of the variables in the forms. Sometimes is not possible to know what the variables stands for based on the variable name and their categories.
Thanks a lot.
Hi Ana,
The forms in OpenMRS eSaude platform were designed to be similar with their corresponding paper based forms as much as possible. The concept behind the variables are equal in both sides, so is the data element dictionary. For example see in attachment the paper form of "FICHA DE SEGUIMENTO DE HIV PARA ADULTOS" with its instructions (kinda dictionary) in page 2, which is equivalent with "ADULTO: SEGUIMENTO" in OpenMRS eSaude platform. Please let me know if this helps.
Cheers
Valério
Thanks Valerio!
But I really need the database data dictionary. Is there one available?
The exports from OpenMRS come with variables like “Data Registo” which is not possible to guess which date is, since it can be date of register in HIV pre-ART care or even an automatic date of register in the database. There are many other variables that is not possible to directly link with the paper forms.
If there is a data dictionary available I would like to have. Otherwise I’ll try to clarify with the data manager.
Regards,
Because OpenMRS uses Entity-Attribute-Value model we mostly rely on the concept dictionary to understand the data. You can find the concept dictionary in the Tuple sheet of the attached document or either by querying the Concept Dictionary in OpenMRS system. I did a quick search in the concept dictionary and I couldn't find such a field named “Data Registo”. Can you please inform which table is this field from?
Thanks
Valério
Thanks for the excel!
Well, it was just an example of one of the variables in one export of CD4 counts we got it in the HC. Don’t worry.
I hope the excel helps, but we also clarify all the detail with FHI team.
