Hi,

I just installed the new release. It has been an easy process. I
created a new patient but I cannot open the "Initial encounter". I get
the following error message:

Form template: http://127.0.0.1:8079/openmrs/moduleServlet/formentry/forms/25-0.1-183.xsn
The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath.
This form template was created by InfoPath version 12.0.0.

I am using Office Pro 2003. Is there a way of saving the xsn forms in
InfoPath 2003 format?

We can save Infopath 2003 forms in the system along with Infopath 2007 forms, however, we can only store one infopath rendering for any specific form.  I've got a bug open for putting in office 2003 forms (Someone else asked for this a few weeks ago).  I'll see next week if there's a quick way that I can backport an infopath 2007 file to 2003. 

There's two issues with doing the backports. The first is making it simple enough that changes in the base forms, which are in 2007 can be immediatly put in the 2003 versions, and the second is what to do about functionality limits in infopath 2003

Hello,

I see a problem with InfoPath 2007. I guess that most sites interested
with OpenMRS still run Office 2003 on their computer. If Office Pro
2003 included InfoPath, it si not anymore the case with Office Pro
2007. You need now at least Office Pro Plus to have it with the
bundle. How could we negociate decent prices for isolated sites with
Microsoft? Do you have any experience?

Hello,

You can buy Infopath 2007 as a standalone product. It's not cheap
though, I believe its about $200USD for the retail version. I dont
know if it is available as an OEM package though. I've been told by
Microsoft though that if people want to use it in developing countries
through institutions such as clinics and other health facilities, NGOs
etc, that it is possible to get the software for a reduced price by
dealing directly with the local Microsoft office responsible for the
particular country.
