COSS stands for commercial open‑source software.

Heather Meeker and Sabir Ibrahim have been running some background webinars on commercial open source.  Both are technologists turned lawyers.  There is no fee involved.  But possibly some homework? :)

Just forwarding this notification in case anyone is interested in understanding how they might generate both revenue and contributions for their software project, while remaining true to the open‑source ethos.

The associated Chinstrap Community comes with my recommendation.  Chinstrap is a type of penguin and, as we all know, penguins love FOSS.

The sessions will take place via Zoom on the dates below: Week 1: Thursday April 2 16, 9 AM - 10 AM Week 2: Thursday April 9, 9 AM - 10 AM Week 3: Thursday April 16, 9 AM - 10 AM Week 4: Thursday April 23, 9 AM - 10 AM All times are PT (GMT-7).  This 4-week workshop is for university professionals in offices of technology licensing (OTLs), open source program offices (OSPOs), university entrepreneurship centers, and university researchers and professors seeking to commercialize their research.
