There will once again be a new edition of YEEES – after we saw the huge demand for such an event at last week's edition in Ghent it will be once again in-person (subject to the usual disclaimer). The abstract submission deadline is June 30!

In case you do not know YEEES yet: YEEES stands for “Young Energy Economists and Engineers Seminar”, which is a network of researchers founded by Yannick Perez and Leonardo Meeus that meets twice a year since 2006 for a one- or two-day working paper seminar. The seminars give PhD students the opportunity to present their work in progress and receive feedback from their peers in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Up to a full hour is devoted to every paper, which breaks down into a maximum 20-minute presentation of the paper, two 10-minute discussions of the paper by two reviewers who read the paper beforehand and present a short review of the paper (what is the issue, what is the methodology, what are the results, what are the strengths of the paper, and how can it be improved), and 10 to 20 minutes for general discussion.

And in case you would not like to participate this time but keep informed about future editions, sign up for the mailing list at yeees+subs...@googlegroups.com

Best,
Jens

Dear Friends of YEEES,

It is our pleasure to announce the 30th edition (Fall 2022) of the Young Energy Economists and Engineers Seminar (YEEES).

YEEES will take place on September 7 and 8, 2022, in-person (not online), at Copenhagen Business School (Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure), Denmark.

YEEES gives the opportunity to PhD students and early-career researchers to present ongoing research. Presenters receive feedback from both peers and senior reviewers in a friendly, constructive, and interdisciplinary environment. Attendance is free of charge but places are limited, so register early!

Event details and the full call for papers can be found on the event website.
The registration form is available here.

Please forward this invitation to anyone who might be interested.

  • July 15, 2022: notification of acceptance
  • August 21, 2022: full paper submission
  • September 5, 2022: feedback submission (as a junior reviewer of another participant’s paper)
