Hello all

CROSS POSTING: the earth sciences track may be relevant?

NASA released a request for information (RFI NNH23ZDA005L) related to "Open Science" last week. Summary from that request:

As NASA moves to support open scientific research and development processes via the Open-Source Science Initiative, NASA requests information about user needs for scientific data and computing. Open-Source Science is NASA’s approach for facilitating the adoption of open scientific practices within NASA and the broader community in support of the SMD Strategy for Data Management and Computing for Groundbreaking Science 2019–2024. Historically, each of SMD's scientific Divisions (Astrophysics, Biological and Physical Sciences, Earth Science, Heliophysics, and Planetary Science) have established many of their own data and computing system architectures to support their respective missions and activities. SMD’s current focus on Open Science and transition towards utilizing cloud data storage and computing offers an opportunity to address how a coordinated cloud and High-End Computing infrastructure could meet the data and computing needs of SMD. SMD is requesting information on two aspects of data and computing infrastructure for Open-Source Science:
RFI = request for information
SMD = Science Mission Directorate

You can find the full RFI and accompanying PDF here:
Deadline for responses is 21 February 2023.

Otherwise interesting in itself that NASA is heading toward open science.
