Dear Openmod community,
Open Energy Transition (OET) has released Open-TYNDP v0.7 and launched a
project website. Open-TYNDP is a research and innovation project in collaboration with ENTSO-E, which explores how open-source energy models can complement and strengthen the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) through transparent and reproducible modelling approaches for Scenario Building and Cost-Benefit Analysis.
Last week, the key results were published showing that open-source modelling and open data can produce high-quality results comparable with the official TYNDP outputs. The project openly shares its methods, assumptions, and data processing, allowing anyone to reproduce and better understand the modelling behind European grid planning.
You can explore the project website, benchmark results, methodology, repository, documentation, and code here:
Any feedback on the project and code is most welcomed. Please note that Open-TYNDP is not an official part of the TYNDP cycle. The project is developed by OET in collaboration with ENTSO-E.
Best regards,
