ABM4Energy 2026
Call for Contributions
The next ABM4Energy 2026 conference on Agent-based Modeling for Energy Economics and Energy Policy builds upon the success of previous conferences in Copenhagen (2025) and Freiburg (2024) as well as workshops in Delft (2014), Berlin (2016), and Stuttgart (2023). Next year’s conference will be held at:
BOKU University, Vienna, during
March 30-31, 2026
Day 1 - Presentations
The participants are invited to present their ongoing research in the field of agent-based modeling for energy economics and energy policy. A short discussion follows each presentation to encourage scientific discourse. We welcome abstracts for your presentation on the following topics:
· Energy system analysis
· Energy markets
· Integrated energy systems
· Interaction of flexibility options
  • Technology diffusion
Please submit an abstract on your methods and results (500 words) via our conference tool on https://events.hifis.net/e/abm4energy2026 until December 12, 2025. The notification of acceptance will be sent in the first weeks of 2026.
Day 2 - Presentations & Workshops & Paper Tandem
A workshop session will allow participants to showcase and demonstrate their agent-based models. This session fosters collaboration and provides a platform for valuable feedback from a wider audience.
If you want to contribute a workshop to the conference, please provide us with an abstract (300 words, this text will be put on the conference website) until December 12, 2025, including:
  • Title
· Short description
· Target audience
· Preliminary schedule (duration: 1,5 hours)
Furthermore, we offer a Paper Tandem session for researchers to get peer-review feedback. If you want to discuss paper drafts with a tandem partner, please provide us with an abstract on your paper (500 words, can be identical with a submitted abstract for a presentation, will NOT be put on the conference website) until December 12, 2025.
Posters
All participants have the opportunity to present their current work through a poster. Ample time will be provided during breaks for presentations and discussions. No abstract is required; however, we kindly ask that you indicate during registration if you plan to bring a poster and its title.
