Climate Change AI is excited to announce the 2024 edition of our Innovation Grants program! We would appreciate your help in sharing this exciting opportunity with your network.
Our 2024 Innovation Grants program will fund year-long projects at the intersection of climate change and machine learning, offering up to USD 150K per project, with a total of up to USD 1.4M available. We are grateful for the support of Quadrature Climate Foundation, Google DeepMind, and Global Methane Hub, and for fiscal support from the Canada Hub of Future Earth.
For the Main Track, example subject areas include, but are not limited to:
Machine learning (ML) to aid mitigation approaches in sectors such as agriculture, buildings and cities, heavy industry, power and energy systems, transportation, and forestry.
ML applied to societal adaptation to climate change, including disaster prediction, management, and relief.
ML for climate and Earth science, ecosystems, and natural systems.
ML for R&D of low-carbon technologies such as electrofuels and carbon capture.
ML approaches in behavioral and social science related to climate change, including climate finance, economics, justice, and policy.
Projects addressing AI governance in the context of climate change or assessing the greenhouse gas emissions impacts of AI.
In addition to the Main Track, this year’s program also features two Special Tracks:
