(Mostly*) open-source modelling is hitting the news in Africa!

The Energy Modelling Platform for Africa is run by the UNECA partnering with local universities.

Please do circulate to any African academics or government policy analysts that may be interested.

Best, Mark (*In fact the remaining tools that are not yet open source, are being converted to 😉)

Hi Mark, all

Worth noting too that the EMP‑A is holding a virtual summer school:

  • Monday 22 November to Friday 10 December 2021

See the URL Mark gave earlier for a link to the registration form for that meeting, also repeated here as a bitly redirect:

Note also that the registration form is highly detailed and you will doubtless need a signed stamped letter from your professor, employer, or similar which you then upload as an accompanying PDF.  (IIRC, registering for the EMP‑E employed a similar process.)  Places for the summer school will likely be rationed.

with best wishes, Robbie
