Dear Openmod community,

Following our successful kick-off event last Wednesday, it is now time for our deep dive events! I am happy to invite you to the first thematic deep-dive of our series "Presentation of Open-Source Tools for Heat Planning [2/4]" (Vorstellung von Open-Source-Tools für die Wärmeplanung [2/4]).

In this two-hour workshop on Thursday, June 11th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, we will look at the entire process from the initial energy system analysis to the specific design of heating networks and thermal storage.

📢 Please note: The event will be held in German.

Which tools will be in the spotlight?

This time, we are taking the time for detailed presentations and live demonstrations of the following three tools:

🛠️ OpenPlan – Energy System Analysis

Learn how to model complex energy systems. OpenPlan enables detailed sector coupling and helps optimize the design of generation plants, storage, and consumers.

👉 Access the tool here

🛣️ F|Heat – Design of District Heating Networks

We will show you the practical functions for the hydraulic and thermal design of heating networks. F|Heat supports you in efficiently dimensioning network structures and validating existing plans.

🔋 Inno!Nord – Open Thermal Storage Planning

A key to a stable heat supply is storage. Inno!Nord offers innovative approaches to planning thermal storage systems to buffer peak generation and increase the flexibility of your network.

This event gives an opportunity to get insights into the user interfaces and features and ask questions directly to the development and expert teams.

Overview of Upcoming Dates:

Please also feel free to save the dates for our next thematic focus sessions:

  • July 15th (2-4 PM): Focus: Quarters & Life Cycle Assessment (LAEND, Sophena, Quartiersgenerator) Registration
  • August 13th (2-4 PM): Focus: International Standards & Practice (DHAT & Best Practice) Registration

Please feel free to forward this invitation to interested colleagues working in planning practice and engineering.

We look forward to your participation and to engaging in deeper discussions with you!

Best regards,
