Hello again all

Agora Energiewende is following up with a second webinar:

  • Empowerment through openness: the future of energy modelling — Webinar. Agora Energiewende. Berlin, Germany.
  • "Discover how open-source energy models can drive change, transparency and public acceptance"
  • Mon 08-Dec-2025 16:30 CET (01:30)
  • Zoom (just written questions, no camera or mic needed)
  • launch of our (Agora's?) open-source model builder PyPSA-SPICE = PyPSA-based Scenario Planning and Integrated Capacity Expansion

The previous webinar (see below) presented the results of a Europe‑wide system integration study, together with reactions from civil society organizations from France (IDDRI), Italy (ECCO), Poland (Forum Energii), and Romania (Energy Policy Group). I had expected in‑house frameworks to be used and was happily surprised to find PyPSA‑Eur was deployed instead. Some reporting follows, but I don't believe the video recording or the seminar has yet surfaced:

For some background, Agora Energiewende is a think tank based in Berlin, Germany and supported by the family‑based Mercator Foundation and the European Climate Foundation, both being sources of philanthropic funding with some focus on climate protection.

best, Robbie

PS: nice to see the openmod Kool Aid being passed around more widely! 🙂

Hi all,

This Agora seminar on openness starts at **15:00** CET today, not 16:30
as written in the subject and body of Robbie's announcement. 16:30 is
when it ends. See you there!
