new PhD position: representing climate extremes in geospatially resolved energy planning models

Hi all, sharing this vacant PhD position (fully funded, 4 years) on energy modelling with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO).

💡 The project aims to explore the important topic of better representing climate extremes (droughts, dunkelflautes, etc.) at different spatiotemporal resolutions in energy planning models (capacity expansion & dispatch), especially for power systems with high shares of renewables.

👉🏾 The position is funded for four years and will be based between the VUB campus in Brussel/Bruxelles and the VITO EnergyVille campus in Genk.
