Hi all (and Stephen)
This Energy Systems Catapult webinar with Prof Hong looks pretty interesting — although I have no inside information to trade!
But to contribute to the debate, I have been working up the following diagram showing information flows in the context of community curation. And although I am not really looking for comments, would happily listen.
One thing to consider regarding data
licensing in this setting is that a collection of datasets
will,
under both US and EU law, usually attract some form of
copyright or allied right in its own right — and that the entire
collection needs to be explicitly open licensed as a separate
exercise. The same idea also applies to software packages and
some open source projects explicitly license the packages or
containers they distribute over and above the software licenses
present in the various components.
with best wishes, Robbie
