Dear All, Please find attached another interesting open-source African Modelling effort! The framework employed uniquely links three open-source models that represent renewable
resources with high spatio-temporal detail with a focus on Southern Africa. The work is led out of University of California, Santa Barbara.  Best, Mark

And another one: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41560-024-01510-0 this one with www.osemosys.org  BTW if you are working with developing countries and would like to piggy back on this open-source meeting the Energy Modelling Platform - Global, please do (!!) The link is here:https://indico.ictp.it/event/10501/ It includes tracks on the open-source models and CC efforts:
  • OnSSET/The Global Electrification Platform
  • Energy and Flexibility Modelling: OSeMOSYS & FlexTool
  • Energy demand assessment and scenarios: MAED and EBS tools
  • Introduction to CLEWs
  • Energy Access Explorer: A Data-driven, Integrated and Inclusive Energy Planning
  • The Electricity Transition Playbook
  • Geospatial data, best practices for collection and management
  • Geospatial Clean Cooking access modelling, using OnStove
These are put together by a large number of international organisations and universities. Competition to get in is very high, but capacity is relatively large and attendance is free (it typically has 130+ peeps there). If you'd like to find out how to partner - please email Rudolf at r.yeg...@lboro.ac.uk

Best - and happy weekend 🙂 Mark
