Hi again

The main and background reports are now public.  Three from this community were involved: Tom Brown, Mirko Schäfer, and Frauke Wiese.  The position paper will be translated into English (in perhaps 3 months).  The translations of the titles given here are unofficial.

Background material:

  • Ragwitz, Mario, Anke Weidlich, Dirk Biermann, Julian Brandes, Tom Brown, Célia Burghardt, Elisabeth Dütschke, Berit Erlach, Manfred Fischedick, Sabine Fuss, Oliver Geden, Jörn Gierds, Ulrike Herrmann, Patrick Jochem, Christoph Kost, Gunnar Luderer, Karsten Neuhoff, Mirko Schäfer, Kurt Wagemann, Frauke Wiese, Jenny Winkler, Bastian Zachmann, and Lin Zheng (2 February 2023). Szenarien für ein klimaneutrales Deutschland: Technologieumbau, Verbrauchsreduktion und Kohlenstoffmanagement [Scenarios for a climate-neutral Germany: technology transformation, consumption reduction and carbon management] (in German). Germany: acatech, Leopoldina, Akademienunion. ISBN 978-3-9820053-5-5. doi:10.48669/esys_2023-3.

The landing page for the two reports:

The Clean Energy Wire news service ran a short article (in English) on this material:

The notion of sufficiency, both for energy services and for consumer products more generally, attracted favorable coverage.

I did not attend the launch, but apparently about 250 people were present.

with best wishes, Robbie
