Hi everyone,

Just released now. If you are an open energy modeller and living in North America, this is a must-attend event.
2-day openmod workshop • 13–14 November 2023 • San Francisco, USA • In‑person event.

While the final venue is yet to be decided, it would be greatly appreciated if you could:
  1. Register so that we have a rough idea of the expected number of participants
  2. Review the agenda & propose your contribution to the event in the openmod forum: https://forum.openmod.org/t/openmod-meets-usa-2023/4148/3. We offer several ways to contribute e.g you can organise break-out groups, posters, lightning talks, stalls for showcasing your devs, talks on open data and open energy modelling)
We are very excited about this event and can't wait to have a great time with the awesome open data and open modelling community.

Best wishes,

Max

P.S. Sorry if the event is organised on relatively short notice. It just happened that we travel and work around the US during a 6-week period and we noticed that the US is in urgent need of a new openmod workshop. The last one at NREL in 2019 is too far in the past...

Hi Max, all

Looks great (although I must admit my impressions of California have now been irrevocably tainted by the Barbie Land movie).

As lead admin on the openmod forum, please note that most of the discussion will take place on forum under the tag san-francisco-workshop.  And that you will need to register to contribute.  Moreover, if you register with a private email address, you will be asked to provide some background, in order to ensure that the online community remains safe. It may well be that some details for the San Francisco workshop will be circulated using private topics, in which case you will also need to be registered with the forum to access that information.

with best wishes, Robbie

Hi Max, all

To note that we are now collecting proposals for lightening talks, presentations, posters, stalls, and so forth here:

Also, about 20 people have registered interest thus far.  So that is encouraging.

with best wishes, Robbie
