Energy systems are getting harder to manage. More renewables, more distributed assets, more real-time pressure — and static planning tools are no longer keeping up. Across the sector, the question is no longer whether AI will play a role, but how to deploy it without losing control over critical infrastructure and data.
In this online seminar, we take a practical look at where AI is already being applied in energy systems — from grid operations and forecasting to trading, flexibility, and maintenance — and what that means for decision-making in practice. The session also addresses the strategic dimension: how European operators can build digital capability while keeping control of system architecture and sensitive data in-house.
The session is led by Jan Bartoš, Chief AI Ambassador and AI Business Partner at ČEPS, the Czech Transmission System Operator responsible for operating and safeguarding the country's high-voltage grid. A former Head of Digital Transformation at ČEPS and Convenor of the ENTSO-E working group on Digitalization and Communication, he brings hands-on experience in control room innovation, AI/ML tools, digital twins, and European grid coordination, and has previously worked with the World Energy Council on digital risk and resilience.📅 Thursday, April 16th
