Dear Openmod community,

We’d like to invite you to our online workshop “What’s Broken About Industrial Electricity Pricing in Germany”. In this session, we take a practical look at what is structurally misaligned in today’s industrial electricity pricing model — and why current mechanisms undermine both competitiveness and effective renewable integration.

Germany is scaling renewables rapidly, yet industrial tariffs remain largely static and detached from real system conditions. As solar and wind expand, rigid pricing structures and grid fees increasingly clash with a renewable-dominated system — leaving energy-intensive companies with higher costs, limited flexibility, and missed opportunities to use abundant green power.

📅 Tuesday, March 3 🕖 7:00–8:00 PM CET 👉 Register here: https://luma.com/0uj4t3wy

We’ll cover:

  • Why constant and inflexible pricing conflicts with a renewable-heavy grid

  • How grid fees and tariff structures shape the real cost burden for industry

  • Where industrial consumers lose flexibility — and money — under current rules

  • What needs to change to better align pricing with real-world renewable availability

This event is hosted by the European Energy Collective — a community of builders, engineers, founders, and energy professionals working to turn structural energy challenges into concrete solutions.

Best regards, Philipp European Energy Collective
