Hi all:

We now have a few developers who've joined the forum. The most frequent question that we've been asked is:
How do I go about integrating the OpenMinds APIs into my app?

Let's address that now. If anything is not clear, please ask here and someone will respond, so that everyone can benefit.

0. The very first thing you need to access is the APIs is a login. If you haven't yet registered, please do so.

1. Go through the API Explorer. This is just to get a feel for the Methods that are supported and the types of results to expect.

2. If you are familiar with Javascript and JQuery, we have a fully working (but very simple) app on Github. It is called flashcards. You can fork it and make sure it runs on your machine. (Instructions are included in GitHub.)

Note that this will involve you registering "your app" on OpenMinds. Your app in this case will be a clone of the flashcards app. If you can get it working, you can start modifying it or incorporating the OpenMinds related calls into your app.

The OpenMinds APIs are Restful. You can use JQuery, Python, Ruby or Curl to access them, depending on your personal app.

Any questions? Please ask.
