are openmeta attrs meant to be prefixed by ':EA:'?

still trying to set openmeta tags to my data and search for the tags.

I am saving tags with 'Default folder X', 'tagit', 'tags' and
'tagger'. when I check the tags with 'tagit', 'tags' and 'tagger' I
get them listed. Searching with spotlight, i get no matching results.

If I ran 'mdimport' on a tagged file i get:

I do not understand from the mdimport-debug-output: why are the
openmeta attributes prefixed by ':EA:'

searching spotlight with 'tag:openmeta' gives no results.

running mdls shows what is in the spotlight database for the item - you should see the tags there;

mdls /Path/To/File

If the tags show there, then perhaps the word 'tag' is somehow not linked via a schema file to kMDItemOMUserTags - you can see what the Finder thinks by doing any search in the Finder, then clicking more, and looking for 'tag' in the long list.

Also - if you add a tag with a weird name like horsefeathers then do a plain spotlight search for horsefeathers do you get the document in the search resutls?

The EA thing is just a message from mdimport that it loaded those things into the spotlight DB by reading the Extended Attributes.

I think you can run mdimport -d3 or similar to tell you the path of the spotlight importer used for mdimport - the spotlight importer has the schema file in it.

this file got found by 1) 'tags' 2) 'spotlight' 3) 'leap' when
searched for 'openmeta'.

taglists still only lists four (4) files tagged with 'Technik', but
not the 'openmeta' tag and associated files.

leap shows this particular file and shows it is managed. it shows the
tag (now).
yep does NOT show this particular file.
( yep does show 3 files tagged within the directory.
One of this 3 files shows 'openmeta' tagged in the info-pane, but
not in the listview.
leap shows 11 files with tags here, all show 'Unmark as Managed' in
their contextmenu.
) but i think this should go elsewhere.

we are talking about ONE file within a particular directory located in
a subdir of my Desktop.
I expect this location to be searched by everyone using openmeta. Is
this correct?

the tags i entered with tags, tagit, tagger, leap, defaultfolderx, in
no particular order.
tried the input methods for all tools. BTW - still messy input-
strategies/solutions with multi-word tags resulting in many \\ and \".
