Protect a room with a password

Hello,
I've been looking for an interesting feature that I don't understand.

Let me explain : I use OpenMeetings with LDAP authentication, and so, everybody has access to every room.
I tried the "invitation" process, setting up a password, but that doesn't seem to work : Authenticated users can enter the room that was supposed to be protected.

Here is my question : Is it possible, in an easy way, to protect a room with a password ? (like for example, in the Administration of the rooms, like an input to fill and a checkbox to check ?)

I would like that only users (even fully authenticated) with the correct password set up for the room get the right to enter the room.
Some information may be discuss that do not concern other people.

Is that possible in any way, or do I have to customize the code fitting my needs ? (that seem to be kind of complicated for me ... :-) )

Maybe that feature is planned on a future version ?

Hi Olivier,

there is no such feature, there are just several workarounds:
- You can set up organizations and add only certain usergroups to each
organzation. You can then create *private rooms* that are not public
visible, but only to members of the organization.
- You can create conference rooms through the calendar, those rooms
are only visible to the members of the calendar event.

Password protection in invitations, is only active for the users that
use the link in the email-invitation. There is no such option for
internal users.

Thanks a lot, I didn't notice the calendar feature, I will probably
use that, it's the option that fits best my needs.
