hi :
I found a strange problem, recently I updated my IE's adobe flash
player to version 10.0.12.36, and found it can't work normally on
openmeeings (both 0.5.1and 0.5.2), when click "load presentation to
whiteboard" , I can see the overview of my ppt , and the window
"loading imagedata" will appaer but can NOT load ppt images to the
whiteboard . then I uninstall adobe flash player 10.0.12.36 and
reinstall adobe flash player 9 , all things are OK again.
So I think there maybe some bug with openmeetings and adobe flash
player 10 , how to solve it .

my player version is also *10,0,12,36*
I have problems in showing documents on whiteboard.
I am not sure if this is a Bug or related to Flash Player version.

Sebastion --

Is the Flash 10 issue with uploading to the whiteboard related to
this...

]

Should I have our users revert to Flash 9 for the time-being?

Thanks for all your work and help.

yes if possible use FP9. I don't think that the Issue is related to the Flash Security Settings directly, as you can download/display Files if you load them into a separated test-scenario.

Yes.. I had this trouble myself. I had to downgrade back to version
9r125 to get it all sorted. If you've had a later version of flash
installed you might need to download a flash uninstall utitlity from
adobe to clean out the registry entries. Also sebastian. where do i
request features i found the bug report tool on the google code page
but couldent find any way of requesting features.

hi sebastian,

i recompiled the webapp and redeployed the current laszlo part and can
see an effort : now i can upload files and show them in the whiteboard
( i still get the "The Connection to the server is lost" - error after
upload, but thats not the task here ;-))

-> The Behaviour within the Whiteboard is quite strange in my
installation now: the generated swf is stepping through the pages like
wild - this happens with every multipage file i upload...
-> Watching the swf on its own via Browser, the pages still switch,
but slower...

This seems to be more like a conversion - error, but can you give me a
hint anyway?

thnx in advance and thank you for fixing the prob in general...

see ya

=> this happens if you play / deploy the Application inside the OpenLaszlo Server. If you copy the resulting SWF to the openmeetings-webapp dir you will see that this error is gone. I don't know what is going on inside the Flash Player or why it ignores stop/play/frame calls to the document and just loops through, must be some kind of Buggy CrossDomain-Issue

-> Watching the swf on its own via Browser, the pages still switch,

=> of course, there is nothing wrong about that. The SWF is not intend to watch standalone. The reason it is slower if you open the SWF in its own browser is that the OpenMeetings Application has a frame rate of around 32 FPS while if you open the SWF standalone it use 12 FPS.

hi sebastian,

thnx for your reply!

the problem is, that the uploaded presentation within the whiteboard
switches too fast, so that it is impossible to read the contents...

how can i get back to the "normal" behaviour ( Whiteboard SWF doesnt
switch automatically) ?

thnx in advance...

Hi,
I have the same problem, slides changing automatically and fast.
I am sure I've done all the steps correctly: checkout latest svn
source (for webapp and flash client) and compilation of the source,
but I have the same problem...
Which release of the client did you get to work?
I'm at r1692.
Thanks in advance.

hi netdiver,

did u compile the lzx files via openLaszlo compiler? my problem was,
that i didnt recompile the new Sourcefiles...
-> after a recompile and redeployment it wordked fine...

my current revision is 1690...

i think, it could also be a caching problem (local or in proxy), so
that your browser still works with an elder version?

hope that helps....

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I did recompile the Laszlo sources with openlaszlo.
Maybe I'm using the wrong openlaszlo 4.2.x release, I saw that
Sebastian added the release number of Laszlo to the BuildSources Wiki
Page.
I'll try with his version.
BTW, I obtained 20 warnings in compiling the laszlo files, maybe the
problem is there.
Thanks!
Lorenzo

yes the compiler of OpenLaszlo did change in the latest builds.
I can only refer to the revision I use. Later ones may throw additional Compiler warnings but they should not break the system in general.

YAY!!! It worked!!
Compiling Openmeetings client with OpenLaszlo r11439 lead to correct
behaviour of slide loading!!!

Thanks all for pointing me to the correct direction.

Lorenzo.
