In particular:

http://seekda.com/ or http://xmethods.com/
http://ebxml.org/
and the old UDDI stuff.

Seekda seems to be a WSDL crawler. Some of the businesses evidently have
WSDL implemented with UDDI, or some just have flat out ebXML, although
there's no longer many public repositories listing precisely which
businesses have what or, where, if at all, they are on the servers.
Many of the procurement and processing interfaces are just random "hey,
let's do a reverse auction by email!" nonsense (Ariba! this means you),
hoping that the website you pull the reverse auction over will have the
suppliers that you want to tap (yikes).

The obvious solution is a standard much like 'robots.txt' instead of
relying on custom URLs for various infrastructure services provided by
eRFx or EDIFACT or B2B stuffs -- that's secondary -- the first step is
just finding if the business is going to be friendly with you.

Big Iron has been thinking of those repositories (erm, really more like
directories) since at least 2002, and they haven't really gotten around
to it, and the ones that Sun and Microsoft *did* get around to have
since gone defunct, even with the help from the W3C with WSDL and ISO
15000, I recommend something be done. I have a clever idea. I have
Completely Legally Acquired a very large data set concerning materials
and their mining locations and their characteristics (numbers, actual
numbers) in structured formats. It wouldn't be too hard to filter this
through the NAICS classification system with respect to the stock
markets, then discretize where materials are in comparison to the
actual existing companies, and generate a simulation of the 'economy'
and show how agents more affectively deal with various scenarios --
like supply chain interruption -- when they are more open and have,
i.e., the availability to instantly reconfigure supply chain proposals
much like flexible manfuacturing systems (FMSes) were doing for
shopfloors in the late 80s and early 90s.
