Hi Everyone,

Check out the blog for yet another long overdue status update.

This one is actually positive for a change and includes *actual* screenshots of the Android app! :-)

Thank you Mark - glad you like it :-)

It would be great to be hounded for release dates to be honest but unlikely!  I think most users have moved on now which is a shame but I completely understand after last year's debacle!

Hopefully, I can tempt users back with this new re-focused version of the app.  I am determined to rein in the ambitions and focus on 'getting real' and making a release very soon.  I have said this all before of course, but this time it's different, trust me :-)

Regards,
Paul.

I'm still using the available version every day. I haven't found
anything better, even if I count some problems that I have to work
around. :)

I'm looking forward to test the new version! Woo! :)

Whilst I have moved on, I'm still subscribed to this mailing list in
the hope that something good will come of Openloopz. There may be
many more like me. Good luck.

Hi Ben
Yes I am one of the many like you. I signed up to this group and would love to see openloopz working well. I use a lot of different apps and tools for my GTD setup and am still looking to consolidate them all!
When things are ready I will be there to give ot a go,

Thank you for the support guys :-)

I am eager to get a release out as early as possible to get some much needed feedback so fingers crossed you'll be able to try it out soon!  My next blog post will go into the planned features in more detail - I should have it posted before the end of this week.

Thanks again,
Paul.

Any further news on the new release?

Having just switched phones (new SGS3!) I found my old todo app I'd switched to decided not to sync/restore any items, so its time to start again and well darn it - I miss OpenLoopz!

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to focus on OpenLoopz as much as I would have liked over the last few months.

I have worked on it as much as possible in my spare time but there is only so much one programmer can do!  Therefore, while the Android app is designed from the ground up to support the highly requested 'sync' feature, I have decided to disable it for now and focus on getting the app released as soon as possible (hopefully before the end of the month).

After the first release, I plan to reach out to the community to ask for small donations to fund the continued development of the sync
feature. With enough funding I should be able to finish it in a couple of months.  If that doesn't work out I will still work on it in my spare time of course - it will just take a lot longer to implement.

I realise it will come as a huge disappointment to many that sync won't be available at launch and for that I can only apologise (again!).  But, given my situation, I think it's much better to release now and focus on sync later rather than delay the whole app until sync is finished.  There is a lot more besides 'sync' to show off in the new version and I am eager to get the app out there to see what you all think of it!

Regards,
Paul Drummond
