Hi Paul,

I noticed that Open Loopz development came to a halt which is quite sad because it's a nice piece of software!
Have you reconsidered open sourcing the android app?
There are many ways to monetize open source apps, e.g. with a freemium model, paid cloud sync, or even just offer a built package in the market (most people neither know, nor care to build and android app by themselves).
Another option would be to at least provide some extension points (e.g. Intents) so that one can use software like Tasker to activate contexts, add actions/projects, read actions from the currently active context and display them in a widget,...

Don't get me wrong, I really like Open Loopz and I would love to contribute some improvements.

Best
Martin

+1.

Time and time again I'm trying every new similar apps and I end up using OpenLoopz. I'd love to see it in a more active development, as the base of the program is brilliantly done. Opensourcing it would be a good way to keep it going.

Thanks for the support guys!

While it's true that development has stalled publicly, I haven't given up on OpenLoopz behind the scenes and I've been working on ideas in my spare time.  I have considered Open Sourcing the app, but I am still working on some ideas behind the scenes and I want to see how they turn out before making any further decisions regarding the licensing model.

I want to talk about these ideas publicly very soon, but I have made promises here before and been unable to keep them, so this time I would like to start with something concrete that you guys can actually try out, then build from there (openly).  I'm basically trying to learn from all of my past mistakes and do it right this time.  We'll see how it turns out!

Thanks,
Paul Drummond
