Hi Phil,

Thank you for your feedback!   I've added your bugs/suggestions to the todo list.

You can sort contexts on the Context List screen by drag and drop but it's very buggy at the moment. You have to touch the top left of the context item and when you get it right, the item will turn a solid blue color and it can be dragged.  Drag and drop will be much-improved in the next release of the app!

Can you elaborate on your comment about being unable to edit contexts or view context details?  From the contexts list screen, you can select a context to see all the actions associated with it.  From that screen there is an edit button which lets you edit the context details.  Is this what you are looking for?

The Inbox is accessible from the menu on the main screen.  But usually, the inbox is accessed from the system notification area when you have at least one Inbox action.  All 'unplanned' actions automatically go in the Inbox when they are created. An unplanned action is one created without a context, project or deadline.  The idea being you can create lots of actions to get them out of your head quickly without worrying about organising them, then you can go to the inbox at a later time when you have more time to organise them properly.

Subtasks are definitely planned for a future version of the app once the web app and sync are done.

Paul.

I have been thinking about how i could use the app without a web app. My main concern is not having access to my to-dos without my phone. If the android app could email a list of all tasks (maybe in a csv?), that would mean i had web access to my todo list in the eventuality of me not having access to my phone.

Hi Paul,

thanks for the response.

Regarding being unable to edit contexts. I have found it now, click on the context, that brings you to a list of actions within that context, and click on edit. It does not feel intuitive to me. Maybe a long press on the contexts to edit. Or a place in the options to edit contexts?

Any thoughts manual sort of tasks (essential for next actions under a project, if i enter them out of order, i have to delete then re-add in the correct order. I believe this and th

add by email? but i guess this requires a web portal or some server on your side.

2 more feature requests:-
  • can there be an option so when clicking on a task i go straight to edit,
  • when clicking in projects or  contexts id like to see a list of current projects, rather than typing.
  • the 'chooes deadline' dialogue needs simplifying

I shall be keeping a close eye on your project, and shall be mailing some sites to see if they can do a little review. Like a lot of users, the need for a web app precludes me from currently using this as my main GTD app, but you are certainly amongst the best.

Hi Phil,

I agree the context editing is not very intuitive and I am definitely planning to improve this by adding a drop-down menu to context items on the Context List screen in a future release.

Actions can already be sorted manually via drag and drop and this is how next actions works.  Within a project, when you drag an action to the top of the project list, it becomes the next action.  Drag and drop is very buggy at the moment however - I am currently looking into improving it.  If it's easy to fix I should have a new release within the next few days with improved drag and drop support.

Your feature requests are good ones and I've added them to the list - hopefully, I will be able to implement them in time for the next release.

Thank you for your offer of promoting OpenLoopz!  I very much appreciate any efforts to help get OpenLoopz out to a wider audience!

As for using the app without a web app, firstly - just in case you are unaware - all my efforts are currently focused on the development of the web app and sync. I am planning to release a beta version very early so that early adopters like yourself can try it out as soon as possible.  I cannot say how soon this will be at this stage but I should have a clearer idea within the next few weeks of how much longer it will take. As for supporting a CSV export feature, this has been on the list for a while, but unfortunately I don't have any time to support this right now as the web-app and sync are the priority.

Regards,
Paul.
