Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! I’d like to provide the Governance Committee with a few community updates:

Results of the Trusted Partner & Sustainability Vote
Representatives from each of the Trusted Partner organizations (8 total) voted on each of these issues. Brandon will be following up shortly with additional information on potential vendors to support the sustainability activity.
Trusted Partner guidelines: 100% pass
Sustainability workstream: 100% pass

Digital Square Notice B Award

We received notice that our proposal for OpenLMIS Advocacy and Community Engagement in response to the Digital Square Notice B announcement was accepted and awarded! The OpenLMIS core team is working with Digital Square on next steps for contracting and receiving the award, more information to follow.

Opportunities Page

There are several updates to the OpenLMIS Opportunities page, including new opportunities for funding and updates on country opportunities. Please check the page often for these updates and contact Tenly if you are interested in talking further or coordinating on any of these opportunities. Specifically in the DRC, VillageReach is looking for additional partners with Francophone resources based in the DRC to support a potential project.

HHL Conference

Tenly will be attending HHL on behalf of OpenLMIS and we have had both a poster and an oral presentation accepted. Please let her know if anyone from your organization will be attending or if you would like to assist with developing the presentation.

SoftWorks EOI

SoftWorks will be submitting their Expression of Interest (EOI) to Governance one week before the next Governance Committee meeting on June 19. They will then make a short presentation to Governance demonstrating their past experience and interest in joining the Community as an implementer, following the recently approved Trusted Partner guidelines.

Warm regards,

Dear OpenLMIS collaborators,

It’s a great sign to see 100% support for the Sustainability effort. As a next step, Kaleb has offered to organize a closed RFP process to help select a vendor who will conduct research on business models/markets and also facilitate the process. Do you have a vendor to suggest?

To suggest a vendor:

  • Email Kaleb Brownlow the vendor/consultant name, title, email address, and contact info of a primary contact by June 11 Close of Business.
  • Optionally, you could also ask vendors to submit some background material about their qualifications (eg, a PDF of work experience or key personnel).
  • Optionally, you could meet with potential vendors to brief them about the OpenLMIS Sustainability project. I created a slide deck for potential vendors that you’re welcome to use.

Kaleb will receive these vendor suggestions, and he’ll be working to define the next steps of the process (e.g., getting concept notes and/or proposals and pricing from potential vendors). I look forward to collaborating with all of you to move this forward. Have a good weekend,

-Brandon

Dear all,

Thanks Brandon for the slides and note. I have received approval to proceed with this contract and welcome other governance members suggestions for potential organizations that could lead the Sustainability workstream that we have defined.

I have received a notice of interest from Vital Wave and Resonance. I will be working with Brittany over the coming week to lay out a plan and approach to this closed RFP process and will keep you all regularly updated as well as request participation in the evaluation and reviews of proposals.

If you all have other organizations’ that you think would have the expertise for this activity please send me any information or background that you have on this organization. Based on past experiences, I was considering that no more than 4 organizations would be manageable for the closed RFP.

Thanks for any other ideas or suggestions. If people need a few more days we do have some flexibility.

Best,

Kaleb

Dear team,

Kaleb has received one more potential sustainability vendor, so we now have 3 potential vendors for this work.

If anyone else has additional submissions or needs additional time, please let Kaleb know right away. I’m excited for Kaleb and Brittany to move this process forward. Thanks,

Hi Brandon,

I think this sounds like a great opportunity we should pursue.  Both Vital Wave and Resonance are great organizations and I think both could help us through this process.

Best,

Matt
