I installed  1.4.23 ,but  failed many times.

Vultr  ubuntu 16.04 -64 ,  I found  this:

ar: creating ../libcrypto.a

ar: creating ../libssl.a

WARNING: can't open config file: /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf

WARNING: can't open config file: /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf

WARNING: can't open config file: /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf

WARNING: can't open config file: /usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf

Finsihed building openssl.

Openssl: use_dyn_ossl = no

Then  I  cannot  access  the  CP.

I donot  know  why ,  the  openssl,cnf  is  in  the /etc/ssl

But  in the  ubuntu 16.04 -32  in  atlantic VPS ,the  litespeed -stand   can  be installed   sucessfull.

Need  I  add  --with-openssl=/etc/ssl  ? I  tried to  reinstall  the  openssl , but  more  problems  happend. 

I hope only  use  apt-get  install  the  openssl.

By  the way  openlitespeed  havenot  update   two month ,  is  it  ok?

Hi Long,

I am sorry to hear you have such issues while installing openlitespeed.
I will try to figure out what happened through the error message.

BTW, you may also can install from the ols1clk tool
https://github.com/litespeedtech/ols1clk
this one will install from a already built packet, but not from the source code.

We did not update openlitespeed for a long time, just because the current version works well and no major bug found.
Once we get any bug report or any big issue found, we will release new version soon.

I  used   --with-openssl=/etc/ssl ,  failed.

The  vultr  vps  ubuntu 16.04-64  has  this  problem , and  the  atlantic  ubuntu 16.04-32  can works.

I donnot know  why.

I  used  my  own  one click  scripts ,  I am  not  used to your  script , for  I dislike  use  many [opinions] ,  I like  the  litespeed  install  way ,  one  quetion and  one  answer. step by  step  to  choose  the  fuctions  I need.

I like  openlitespeed  for  it  has  a  cp  and  less  memory ,  but  now  the  vps  I use  the smallest  is  256M ,  the  vultr  smallest is  768M  and  linode  is  1G.

So  the less  memory  is  not  need  more.  Easy to use  is  the  best.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Actually the ols1clk has a lot of options just for flexibilities.

You still can just type
./ols1clk.sh
and then you will get the same result as
./configure; make ; make install
and the installation will be much faster.

As I just mentioned, I will check why failed on Ubuntu16 64 bits platform.
