to OpenLike
It seems that at the moment there are different ideas of how an
openlike might work and I have to admit my technical expertise is far
outweighed by most of the other folks here so I may not understand
everything perfectly. It seems to me that some figure the openlike
idea should include friends lists and such and others that think it
should just bet a set of or single share links with open data
associated with it. While I like these ideas, I tend to think that
people will stick with the Facebook share button because their friends
are on facebook.

Having said that, I still think the openlike initiative is important,
but perhaps it would just function as a back end and a either for-
profit or non-profit front end social network could accompany it using
the data. Perhaps apart of this group several initiatives could spawn
one on a more singular open protocol another on a front end that is
usable. It would allow those to work on what they feel passionate
about.

With that in mind I created a document that outlines how I envision a
front end, privacy controlled, tag based social 'command line' could
work. Such a tool could be highly extensible, use openlike data and
provide an alternative to the grips of Facebook.

I should add not having a job, it would be nice for myself to imagine
a for-profit model that is still respectful of the users rights but I
understand the purpose of this and still wanted to contribute. Just
my two cents and you can either contact me if it interests you, ask
questions, or disregard as you all feel appropriate:

Cheers,

Kevin
