I figured I send this to you and see if you know of anyone that might be interested. HDR is looking for a full-time programmer... Its programming around the ArcGIS software but they'll take about anyone who is a competent programmer and train them in the software... We've been slammed for a awhile and its hard to find someone with programming skills. The "official" listing reads as follows:

HDR in Lexington, KY is looking for a GIS Developer to join our team developing web and mobile applications, most often with a spatial component. Duties include working in a professional environment with a multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental sciences consulting firm. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required. Ideal candidates will have an understanding of GIS and familiarity with Esri software and Esri API’s, but a strong desire to learn and a passion for web and/or mobile development will also be important.

Our web development involves primarily ASP.NET MVC and Esri’s JavaScript API. Our mobile applications, primarily for data collection on iPads, require experience with iOS development using Objective-C. Android development is a plus.

We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn, and grow as a developer; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and build solutions for our clients.
 

Qualifications

 

BA/BS in Computer Science, Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences or related field with 3+ years of practical experience in GIS/IT application development required; candidates with a MA/MS with a minimum of 1 year experience will be considered.

Solid understanding of geospatial concepts required.

Must be proficient in the use of ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS extensions for analysis, automation, and database development.

Must be knowledgeable about Esri’s runtime SDKs.

Expertise with .NET framework, C#, JavaScript, C++, Objective-C, SQL, HTML, CSS desired.

Experience with ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server with MS SQL Server or Oracle preferred. Strong conceptual, organizational, analytical, problem solving and research abilities required.

Must have attention to detail, effective time management skills, and the ability to work and learn independently or with a team, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must have a collaborative team attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.

Must be able to meet tight deadlines.

Must have the ability to interact with diverse teams in a positive and proactive manner.

Esri Certification a plus.

GISP Certification a plus.

Local candidates are preferred.
