Good Evening,

I just sent the following email regarding Code for America opportunity to the Mayor-elect Gray and the Urban County Council.

Later,

Chase

Dear Mayor-elect Gray and Urban County Council Members,

Have you heard of Code for America? It's a non-profit organization that helps cities build cost-saving, innovative apps, and I think our city could benefit from it. You can find more information here (http://codeforamerica.org/cities), and you can get in touch with Code for America by emailing ali...@codeforamerica.org.

I think this is a really great opportunity for us!

Again, I offer my time to your office, committee and council for discussions on Open Data and Open Local Government.

Thanks for the time,

Chase Southard

I've spoken with Jenn before, the head of code for america- we have lots of mutual friends from the Sunlight foundation.

It will be interesting to watch this year as they unfold to see what things happen.  I agree that it would be good to get Lexington to do this, as well, but there is a cost to it, which would have to be justified (and hard to justify without pointing at previous results).

I looked over the application, One of the items from CfA's checklist
is "___ Identified and/or secured $250,000 participation fee."
