Hi,

Is there a way to turn the IR projector in Kinect for Xbox 360 ON without activating IR or depth data streams?

Is there a way to control the IR emitter's power in Kinect for Xbox 360?

Not exactly. That said, you can tell the camera you want to capture
an IR/depth stream, and it'll start the projector and capture from the
IR camera, and then you can just never actually poll it for the
isochronous data. I'm not sure exactly what you're aiming for;
perhaps this satisfies your requirements?

My understanding is that the IR emitter runs at a single brightness
and is not configurable.

Hi Drew,

Thank you for the comments.
I am using the same approach that you have described.
I am curious whether there is a way to control the IR projector directly.

Not to my knowledge.
