New Domain Name

Hey guys.

I was thinking about Steve's comments about pulling php out of the name, and doing something more open. It would also help us not appear to be in competition with kcpug. URL Options below, let me know which option you like best.

Option #1: openkc.com

Stands for Open Kansas City, as in Open Source. We already have a logo started: http://kcphp.com/images/OpenKC.png

Option #2: thekc.it & thekcit.com

The Kansas City Information Technology. I'd buy the .it to be cool, and the .com as well. This opens us up a bit to non open-source guys, so we could also do os.thekc.it and php.thekc.it, etc to break it up by technology.

Option #3: kcos.co

Super small domain, stands for Kansas City Open Source.

Thoughts?

I'm partial to openkc.com. The IT name is too close to another group.
kcos is cool too, I just prefer openkc.

Only if the group *strongly* suggests it... my vote is no because even if we have it, I think most/all of the traffic will route through the .com

Beshoy, that was a general statement. I own my own VPS space, so happy to leverage it as needed.

Tom, with good reason. :) Ubuntu's fine for mucking about and workstation. Servers should have Big Boy distros. :D
