Dear list,

We are considering usage of OpenJPEG for storage of (biological) high-content screening images.

Since the imaging procedure will image multiple wells from one plate, it would be very convenient to make use of the .jpx format and have all images from one plate reside in one file.

We found this thread

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/openjpeg/jpx/openjpeg/xByEnlyc4VI/NdkNtfCzMMkJ

but skimming through the source code we so far only noticed a TODO comment in the codec source code.

In any case, we made two .jpx files available for testing:

sample1.jpx: 7.5MB and contains 96 small 1-channel images (496 x 496)

https://share.openanalytics.eu/data/public/76cb6a.php

sample2.jpx: 17MB and contains 1 big 5-channel image (12001 x 15001)

https://share.openanalytics.eu/data/public/1e7708.php

Would this allow to make progress on JPX support?

Always available if more is needed!

Best regards,
Frederick and Tobias
