Does anyone have experience they can share with MJ2 video decoding in
software?
I am seeking advice on how to implement a video motion JPEG 2000
( MJ2 ) video decoder in software for the Linux platform. My initial
research pointed me to Kadaku as a mature and optimized solution.
However, all attempts to contact have gone unanswered which brings me
back to OpenJPEG.
I have been researching open source media players that supports multi-
cast streaming with the goal of integrating with a MJ2 video decoder.
At first glance "VLC media player" has good support for streaming and
appears popular. The MJ2 video encoding is done in hardware using an
Analog Devices ( ADI ) chip.
Can anyone give me a rough idea of how big a job this is? Is it
basically a software integration job or are there more pieces that
need developing in order to build a streaming MJ2 video player for
Linux?
Any tips or direction are much appreciated
